A new mattress can make all the difference in whether you get a good night’s sleep or if you stay up tossing and turning. A quality mattress provides appropriate support and comfort for your body, while a worn out mattress can result in sleep difficulties, including body aches and pains. Pay attention to the following signs so you know when you may need to replace your mattress.

Do you have difficulty falling asleep?

After a long day, it’s nice to be able to jump into bed but, if you have trouble falling asleep, there may be a chance you are uncomfortable sleeping on your mattress. If you are tossing and turning all night, you may not get the necessary rest you need to feel energized the next day.

How old is your mattress?

If you have been sleeping on the same mattress for more than 7 years, you need to consider replacing it. After sleeping on the same bed and mattress every night, normal wear and changes in your personal sleep needs may lead its comfort to fade.

Is your mattress sagging?

If you lay on one side of the bed, normal body impressions may develop over time; however, extreme sagging may can throw the spine, neck and head out of alignment and cause discomfort. Several factors can cause mattress sagging, including an improper bed frame, improper center support, a damaged or bent frame or a damaged/broken box spring. Using a proper bed frame with proper center support and taking proper care of your box spring will greatly reduce the chances of mattress sagging.

Do you wake up with any aches?
